Downtown Issaquah Association Membership
Any business or resident located in the Cultural Business District of Issaquah is automatically a member of the Downtown Issaquah Association MAPCBDZoning.
Following is a letter from DIA President Steve Ahlbom explaining this change.
This letter is to let you know that we are eliminating our annual membership fee to businesses and residents located in the Central Business District. This will allow DIA to focus on the Main Street Tax Incentive Program. This program allows contributors to take a 75% tax credit on their state B&O taxes of every dollar donated to DIA. It’s easy to join and your tax dollars stay local to improve the economic and cultural vitality of Downtown Issaquah .
We are now accepting contributions for 2015 so please contact Karen Donovan or myself to contribute or for more information. Money in this fund will be used for downtown beautification projects, streetscape development, cultural events and marketing.
This past year has been a huge success as we continued to attract people to Downtown Issaquah. In 2014 we have attracted over 15,000 people to downtown through our Wine Walks, Art Walks, Fenders on Front Street and other events that DIA presents. In addition, we have expanded our events to include International Music Day, History Pub Crawls, and Shop Local Day.
We have great plans for more activities in 2015! And every DIA-sponsored activity is measured by its ability to connect and enrich you, the business community we serve. DIA will continue to leverage our volunteers and staff for the betterment of the Downtown Issaquah community; provide business advocacy; direct program and event production; and continue to develop a robust marketing program to grow awareness of Issaquah, and its desirability as a place to visit, live, and do business.
If you have questions about the State B&O Main Street Tax Program, Karen and I are available to review the details of the program with you.
