It’s no secret – kids love art! Painting and drawing stimulate creativity, teach patience through perseverance, and enrich the academic lives of young people.

Expose young artists to new theories and concepts such as color theory, composition, perspective, sight measuring, and proportion from the first day, and well-rounded projects will keep them growing for months and years ahead. The workshop format enables each child to move at their own pace, and also lets the social side of art flourish. This is the key to getting kids to share their opinions about their work with each other.

Each project exposes students to artists and styles from many historical movements, e.g. Renaissance, Impressionism, Art Nouveau, Surrealism, and Pop. The initial stages will focus on drawing and painting what one sees. As students progress, they will apply more advanced skills and theories to their work, learning from other artists while realizing their own ideas. Painting what they see will give way to painting what they want to see – even in exploration of the fantastic, abstract and personal.

This program is suited for youths with no art experience, as well as intermediate and advanced students.  Class fee includes use of all tools and materials.
