A lot of that energy, he knows, comes from the work of the Downtown Issaquah Association (DIA). And as a volunteer who has received DIA’s “Get ‘Er Done” award, he’s been part of it—helping where he can, showing up when it counts.\nBut for Dave, “showing up” started to feel like it could mean something more. So he did what any lifelong music lover with a couple of rock bands in his orbit might do—he decided to throw a concert. Not just any concert, but a full-on benefit concert for DIA powered by three local rock bands, including his own, Magnetic Grey.\nLoud guitars, good people, and a shared purpose: raising money to support the organization that’s helped shape the community he cares so deeply about.\nFor Dave, it’s personal. Living in historic downtown isn’t just about proximity—it’s about connection. He sees firsthand how DIA brings people together, how events turn strangers into neighbors, and how small moments—a conversation on the sidewalk, a song played live—build something lasting. That’s what he wants to support.\nSo this fundraiser isn’t just a night of music. It’s a reflection of who Dave is: someone who believes in his community, who gives his time without fanfare, and who—when he sees an opportunity to do more—turns up the volume and makes it happen.\nBecause sometimes giving back looks like volunteering. And sometimes, it looks like plugging in a guitar, stepping on stage, and inviting your whole community to join in.\n
