Downtown Issaquah Celebrates Its Art Community During National Artists Sunday Nov. 29 Small business Saturday is Nov. 28th, but Issaquah Small Businesses could use a hand all season long.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ISSAQUAH, Wash., November 25, 2020 – Issaquah joins a nationwide movement to honor and support its artists and recognize the impact they have on enriching the community while boosting the economy.

Artist Sunday is designed to make the Sunday after Thanksgiving the most profitable day of the year for artists. Consumers are encouraged to shop with artists and purchase creative, handcrafted gifts for the holidays. Artists Sunday follows Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, prior to Cyber Monday. https://artistssunday.com/

This holiday season looks a little different, but consumers can still share joy. Shop Small and support Issaquah’s small businesses – both in-store and online – all holiday season long. Small Business Saturday falls on November 28.

“We’re excited to see downtown alive with visitors who are purchasing personal, hand-crafted gifts, and original art,” said Christina Bruning, president of the Downtown Issaquah Association. “We are a tight-knit community and are honored to support our artists and small businesses any chance we can.”

Joining regular local merchants, art has popped up downtown Issaquah with the Historically Hip Artisan Market in the Rogue Building, open since October. Artists will also be available at Yum-E Yogurt, Capri Cellars, and the annual Holiday Shop in the Historic Shell Station after Thanksgiving. https://downtownissaquah.com/

The Artisan Market in each location features original artwork from hand-carved wood pieces to paintings, jewelry, pet portraits and distinctive gifts for every age and tastes.

Visitors to Historic Downtown Issaquah also can browse the wares of local merchants, and varied food choices at restaurants, some of which will be open for take-out and tented outdoor seating.

Artists are also on full display with their creations in window fronts at: AAA Building, Bukhara Restaurant, Fischer’s Meats along Front Street, and at the Rogue Building. Passersby have stood in front of the windows, expressing enthusiasm about the hip creativity that has become of hallmark of downtown. See artists’ short biographies on the DIA website

It is particularly apt for Downtown Issaquah to participate honoring artists. It was recently designated a Creative Arts District by the State of Washington – one of only 8 in the state. https://rebrand.ly/neiriholidan looks a little different, but we can still share joy. Shop Small
