Downtown Issaquah Celebrates a Day of Music on December 21st!

 

 

The Downtown Issaquah Association is taking national Make Music Day and composing an “Issaquah-ish” — Yuletide on Front with its own brand of charm. Of course Issaquah stands out. Who would expect anything else? This day is particularly special. In a rare sky show, Jupiter and Saturn will nearly “touch” on the Winter Solstice. On the night of Dec. 21, stargazers will be in for a holiday treat as the two bright planets appear closer together than any time in 400 years.

 

 

This Little Cutie to the right brought her own form of music last year with rumba shakers. While participants this year will have to be COVID conscious, respecting distance and mandatory masks, we can still be cheery and bright. Remember to bring your own bells, take in the downtown lights, watch Jupiter and Saturn . visually “collide,” admire the newly painted window art on Front and Sunset, and enjoy the multiple open restaurants for take-out. Music starts at 4:15, but there is no deadline on merriment.

 

Rounding a corner downtown, you may see guitarists, distanced holiday carolers, a serenade on a balcony. Make your own discordant, ingenious musical parades via smart phones, hand bells and blue tooth speakers. Or, if you prefer low-key, just bring your spirit and families. Downtown Issaquah thrives on our community.
